Yesterday when I went to the V.V Mohalla Post Office with a Bank cheque to be credited to my PPF account, there I was asked to send it through the Post Office Savings Bank account.
This rule has put people who do not have PO savings account into difficulty. They have shifted the Gokulam 3rd stage Post Office unmindful to Yadavagiri thus causing lot of inconvenience to people, particularly the elderly citizens.
This PO was serving usefully for the past several years. I have represented this matter to the Superintendent of Post Offices in Mysuru some months ago but of no avail.
The only reason they give is that they do not get a place in Gokulam 3rd stage for rent. It sounds strange that when a fairly big plot earmarked for Post Office is lying vacant here no attempt is made to put up even a small structure there.
They can also explore the possibility of opening the office in the MUDA complex in this extension which is also unoccupied next to MysoreOne office.
