Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji of Avadhoota Datta Peetham’s Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram in the city said, “One shall be blessed with knowledge, health, goodness and welfare if they have darshan of Lord Shiva on Mahashivarathri festival day.”
Sri Ganapathy Swamiji delivered a discourse after performing special abhisheka puja to the idol of Sachchidanandeshwara Shivalinga at the Ashram on Friday.
“It is believed that darshan of Surya ushers in health and the flame of Homa Yajna showers wealth. Likewise, the darshan of Shiva gives all including knowledge and health. Shiva Mantra assumes significance and even Sri Ramachandra was chanting Shiva Mantra and Lord Shiva recites Rama Mantra. It is still believed that, if one takes a last breath at Kashi, Lord Shiva himself recites Rama Mantra in the ears of the dead,” added Seer.
