Giri Muddappana Puttananjappana Shivanna (85), retired Assistant Controller at the Weights and Measurement Department and a resident of Kuvempunagar here, passed away yesterday in city.

He leaves behind his wife Shivakumari, sons Nagendra Swamy (Superintendent of Central Excise and Customs Department), Guruprasada (Businessman) and S. Parashivamurthy (Circle Inspector at Kutta in Kodagu), daughters S. Nagarathna and S. Manjula Devi and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at his farm in Devanur in Nanjangud taluk today, according to sources.
