In yet another publicity stunt, Shobha Karandlaje, BJP MP from Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency, donned the Lambani attire while campaigning in Chincholi yesterday for the party’s candidate Avinash Jadhav, who is contesting the by-polls to be held on May 19.
The by-poll to Chincholi was necessitated as his father Umesh Jadhav quit as Congress MLA and joined BJP to contest the LS polls from Kalaburagi against veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.
Today is the last date for filing nominations for May 19 by-polls, for which the results will be declared on May 23, along with LS results.
