‘Shop-keepers who flout plastic ban order to lose Trade Licence’

Mysuru: MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj said that as per instructions from Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri and MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag, the enforcement of plastic ban in the city has been implemented from today. 

Speaking to Star of Mysore, he said that as most MCC staff and officials have been asked to undergo RT-PCR test and a few attending the meeting chaired by District Minister S.T. Somashekar, raids and distribution of cloth bags could not be taken up today and added that the same will be held from tomorrow.

Dr. Nagaraj said that Poura-karmikas, Health Inspectors and other MCC staff created an awareness about the strict enforcement of plastic ban among shop-keepers at Devaraja Market, Santhepet, Shivarampet, Devaraja Urs Road, Sayyaji Rao Road and other places this morning.

He further said that the shop-keepers have been asked to follow the rules failing which fines would be collected from them. They have also been warned of cancellation of their Trade Licences if they are found violating the plastic ban order, he added.
