Mysuru lad Shreyas K. Patil, from Mysuru, taking part in the Karnataka State U-17 Open FIDE Rated Chess Tournament held in Bengaluru from Jan. 10 to 12, secured 6.5 points from 9 rounds in the U-17 Boys section, and secured the 18th place among 162 participants in the Open section.
Shreyas Patil won second place in the U-11 Boys section. Shreyas is the son of Dr. Neelakanteshwar Patil and Shalini of CFTRI, Mysuru.
