‘Shruthi Amrut’ musical tribute to martyrs

Mysore/Mysuru: SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru and JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), Mysuru, have jointly organised ‘Shruthi Amrut’, a musical tribute to martyrs at Suttur Mutt premises at the foot of Chamundi Hill in city on Feb. 24 and 25 at 6 pm.

‘Shruthi Amrut’ is a festival of Indian classical music and dance organised as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ associated to G-20 programmes being held across the country.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.

On Feb. 24: Hindustani vocal concert  by Vidu. Dr. Sunanda Sharma, a vocalist  par excellence of Banaras Gharana and  Odissi dance by  ‘Padma Sri’ Madhavi Mudgal,  a living legend of Odissi dance.

On Feb. 25: ‘Padma Sri’ Ustad Shahid Parvez,  the sitar maestro of Etawah Gharana will present sitar concert and Karnatak music concert by Vid. Sanjay Subrahmanyan. For details, call Ph: 0821-2548211.
