Siblings shine in National Karate Championship

Gandharvika Shastry and Gahan Shastry Sister-Brother Duo, Black Belt and Brown Belt karatekas from Mysuru respectively, practising  IMSKA Karate style under Hanshi N.G. Sivadas, have bagged 1st place both in Individual Kata and Kumite events at the 29th National-level Karate Championship organised by Okinawa Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do, in association with IMSKA held at University of Mysore Gymnasium Hall recently.

Gandharvika Shastry and Gahan Shastry are the children of Dr. Rohitha Eswer and Rashmi Rohitha and are studying in Pramati Hill View Academy.

Another Sister-Brother Duo, Laiba Khayum and Mohammed Jinan too excelled in the 22nd Shorin Kai National Karate Championship 2023 held at the University Gymnasium Hall, Mysuru, recently.

While Laiba Khayum won first place in Kumite and third place in individual kata U-11 years brown belt category, Mohammed Jinan won second place in individual kata under 13 years brown belt category. Both are trained under Sensei Rajendra Prasad.

Laiba Khayum and Mohammed Jinan are the children of K.M. Khayum, Centre Head, KEONICS Computer Training Institute, N.S. Road and M. Safeena Shanaz, Principal of  MES First Grade College,  Udayagiri, Mysuru.
