Siddaganga Seer’s 111th birthday celebrated in city

Mysuru: Marking the 111th birthday of Siddaganga Mutt Seer Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, programmes were held by various organisations in city this morning.

Blood donation

Members of Akhila Bharata Veerashaiva Mahasabha, Veerashaiva Lingayat Sanghas and Basava Balaga Okkuta had organised a blood donation camp at JSS Balajagath School near JSS Mahavidyapeeta in association with JSS Hospital.

Kuderu Mutt Seer Sri Gurushanta Swamiji offered flowers to a portrait of Sri Shivakumara Swamiji and launched the blood donation camp. He hailed the Seer for helping the students by providing food, shelter, education and medical care.

Special pujas

Members of Siddaganga Seva Sangha had organised Abhisheka, Archane and special pujas in the name of Siddaganga Seer at 101 Ganapati temple in Agrahara. Prasada was distributed to people later. Sangha President Nanjappa and others were present. Residents of Gowrishankar extension had organised a programmed a the premises of Panchagavi Mutt.

Rudrabhisheka was performed to Gadduge of Sri Gowrishankara Swamiji. A rangoli contest for students were also held. Religious programmes will be held in the evening. Portraits of Siddaganga Seer also seen placed at several auto stands in city to celebrate the occasion
