‘Siddaganga Shivakumara Shri’ award conferred on Dr. S. Shivarajappa

University of Mysore Gandhi Bhavan Director Dr. S. Shivarajappa, who was conferred ‘Siddaganga Shivakumara Shri’ at Kannada Sahitya Parishat premises in city yesterday, is seen with Music University VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar and others.

University of Mysore Gandhi Bhavan Director Dr. S. Shivarajappa was conferred ‘Siddaganga Shivakumara Shri’ award at a programme organised jointly by Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Spandana Mahila Balaga at the District Kannada Sahitya Parishat office located at the North Gate of the Palace yesterday.

KSGH Music and Performing Arts University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar, speaking after conferring the award, said that Dr. Shivarajappa has 48 works to his credit besides writing many articles on Sharana literature and freedom fighters.

Stating that Shivarajappa did not go after any award, she said that Dr. Shivarajappa truly deserved the prestigious ‘Siddaganga Shivakumara Shri’ award for all the contributions he has made to the literary world.

Senior littérateur Dr. Malali Vasanthkumar, in his address, said that it was heartening to note that Dr. Shivarajappa had got the prestigious award.

Noting that Dr. Shivarajappa has given a touch of nativity to Vachana Sahityas, he said that Dr. Shivarajappa had also propagated Gandhian principles through his articles.
