Siddharamaiah in city to visit ailing sister

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah arrived in city this morning to attend private engagements.  He told reporters at the Mysore Airport at Mandakalli that he was visiting his ailing sister. He, however, did not give out any further details.

After proceeding to his house at Ramakrishnanagar from the Airport, the CM attended the wedding lunch (Beegaroota) of the son of MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar hosted in Premier Studios premises.

At the Airport, the Chief Minister asserted that the investigating into the murder of Journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh had made progress.

Stating that the Police have collected all available CCTV images near the spot of murder, Siddharamaiah said the Police teams were making all efforts to crack the case.

Replying to a question on the Dasara preparations, the CM said the repair works on Jumboo Savari procession route and all other major roads in city have been expedited.

The CM further said that he has directed the authorities to fill up all potholes once the monsoon ends.

Claiming that the Government has been successful in handling drought situation, Siddharamaiah said, copious rains across the State had very much eased the drinking water problem.

Maintaining that the Government had launched various welfare schemes on a war-footing, the CM said that the Congress will return to power in the 2018 elections,

District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, MLA M.K. Somashekar, City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao and other officials were present during the Chief Minister’s visit.
