Silent protest staged against writer for portraying Sir MV in bad light

Mysuru: Members of Prajnavantha Nagarika Vedike and BJP activists staged a silent protest against Prof. P.V. Nanjaraja Urs, in front of Sir MV’s bust in The Institute of Engineers premises on JLB road here yesterday morning for portraying Sir M. Visveswaraya in bad light in his book titled ‘Nanu Kanambadi Katte’.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP Slum Morcha President Kautilya Raghu said that though the contributions of Sir M. Visveswaraya to the city was immense, Prof. P.V. Nanjaraja Urs, the author of the book has shown Sir MV in bad light thus creating a bad impression in the minds of the public and added that the writer was not a historian, but a Hindi lecturer, who is seeking free publicity.

He said that they were staging a silent protest for now, but would stage a massive protest if such things repeat in future and demanded the State Government to seize the books, which were released recently in city.

Social Worker Raghuram, former MUDA Chairman K.R. Mohan Kumar, Corporator M.V. Ramprasad and others were present.
