Silk India-2021 at N.R. Choultry from July 22 to Aug. 8

Mysore/Mysuru: New Crafts will present Silk India-2021, an opulent show of cool cotton handloom products, ethnic and traditional silk, made by master weavers from all over India, at Nanjaraja Bahadur (NR) Choultry, Vinoba Road, Mysuru, from    July 22 to August 8 between 10.30 am and 8.30 pm.

The exhibition brings together rural weavers with vast collections of handlooms, dress materials and sarees. It includes Cotton and Silk handlooms from Karnataka, Tie & Dye dress materials and Orissa sarees, West Bengal cotton sarees and many more at 70 stalls. Besides, Jewellery – silver, kundan and meenakari, Textile, Handmade Paper, Precious and Semi-Precious Stones, Gemstones, Paintings, Leather craft,  hand crafted items  like wood, ivory, lac, glass, brass, silver and gold and much more will be on display.

Carpets, durries,  Mojaris / Jutis, Marble crafts, Ivory, Paintings, textiles of colourful fabrics like Bandhani & Bandhej are gorgeous forms that portray rich culture of Gujarat. The exhibition is all about the use of traditional handloom skills to create contemporary lifestyle products. 

The jute-muslin sarees make a classic statement with their delicate stripes. The pallus are embellished with huge jute and gold kairis. Also part of Saha’s Collection are the less expensive Tangails. Gift products abound at the exhibition, say the organisers.
