Gundlupet: The single-tusked elephant, which had created havoc at Anekadu near Kushalnagar by destroying crops and posing danger to human lives, was caught by the staff of the Forest Department, who has brought it to Bandipur National Park.
The elephant had destroyed crops and had also injured many people in Kushalnagar limits. Madikeri Division DFO Surya Sen, Maria Kasthuriraj, ACF Chinnappa and veterinarian Dr. Venkatesh, along with eight tamed elephants, had conducted a two-day operation. Dr. Venkatesh had tranquillised the jumbo on July 17 at about 10 pm.
The elephant was brought to Moolehole range in Bandipur yesterday morning and was let into the forest, according to Forest Officials.
