Mysore/Mysuru: Bhakti Gaurava Gita Centre, Mysuru, has organised a Hindustani Classical Sitar Recital by Manu Prasad of Bengaluru on Saturday (Oct. 28) from 5.30 pm onwards at the Centre premises, #2633, 2nd Main, behind Corner House, Vontikoppal. He will be accompanied by Meghashyam Keshav of Bengaluru on tabla.

Profile: Manu Prasad is an upcoming Sitar artiste, who was inspired by the Bharat Ratna late Pt. Ravi Shankar to play the sitar. With extensive support from his family, he had Sitar training under late Pt. N.R Rama Rao and late Pt. N.R Krishnamurthy (disciples of Pt. Ravi Shankar).
Currently receiving training and guidance under Vidushi Manju Mehta (disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar and sister of Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt), Manu Prasad has immersed himself in the practice and cultivation of Hindustani music on the supremely graceful instrument. Prasad also trains under Gurumurthy Vaidya (renowned tabla performer and student of Pt. Ravindra Yavagal) to enhance musical knowledge and presentation skills.
