Site beneficiaries appeal for registration

Mysuru: The beneficiaries of Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme who have been allotted sites at Kergalli and Ajjayyanahundi in the taluk, who met MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag yesterday, have urged her to get the sites registered in their name at the earliest.

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Housing scheme, the authorities had invited applications in 2001-02 and 2002-03 for allotment of 20X30 sites coming under Kergalli Survey No. 58 and Ajjayyanahundi Survey No.17, following which 475 beneficiaries were allotted sites in 2006.

But barring only two beneficiaries (Basavaraju and Ramesh), the other 473 beneficiaries failed to get the sites registered in their name, following which Manjunath and others, who were deprived of sites, moved the Court. But the Court gave a ruling in favour of the allottees in 2018.

Now, the beneficiaries, most of whom are from BPL families, met MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag at her office and presented a memorandum seeking registration of sites.
