Six cadets of 13 Kar Bn NCC felicitated

Six NCC cadets of 13 Kar Bn NCC, Mysuru, who were part of the NCC Contingent of Karnataka & Goa in the Republic Day-2019 Camp at Delhi, were felicitated at a function held at Maharaja’s College Centenary Hall in city yesterday. Cadets Likhita, Dharmraj, Aryan, Jaswanth, Sachit and Arvinda are seen with Star of Mysore Managing Editor Vikram Muthanna, who was the chief guest, Commanding Officer of the Bn. Col. Manjeet Singh, Lt. Col. Jagdish Nair, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala Principal S. Balaji and others. Cadet Yashas (Army Wing) was also felicitated.

Mysuru:  Six NCC cadets of 13 Kar Bn NCC, Mysuru, who were part of the NCC Contingent of Karnataka & Goa in the Republic Day-2019 Camp at Delhi, were felicitated in city on Tuesday.

These cadets were awarded with the prestigious Republic Day-2019 Trophy and Prime Minister’s Banner by PM Narendra Modi at New Delhi after giving a tough fight to other sixteen Directorates from all over the country.

Though all the six cadets excelled in various events, it was Cdt Likhita, who dazzled in cultural as a lead singer and was lauded by the PM.  Cdt Dharmraj held the banner high by marching on the prestigious Rajpath.

Cdt Aryan got the prestigious Best Cadet Award in junior division among all the States in India while Cadets Jaswanth, Sachit and Arvinda excelled in their individual events.

The Unit also bagged the Best Institutional Award when Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala and JSS School, Suttur, won the coveted prize for Junior Division (Boys) School and also the Best Junior Wing (Girls) School respectively among the Karnataka & Goa States in which around 1,000 institutions competed. These institutions were awarded for their proactive approach in Education, Health, Sports, Hygiene and Sanitation, Cleanliness Drive, Environment-friendly and Social Awareness programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, Commanding Officer of the Bn. Col. Manjeet Singh lauded the role of all the Officers, PI Staff, GCIs, ANOs and the civilians who contributed in grooming these cadets. He also appreciated the role of his Deputy Lt. Col. Jagdish Nair and his team.

Vikram Muthanna, Managing Editor, Star of Mysore, who was the chief guest, felicitated the achievers with mementoes  and prizes.
