Six camera traps stolen at D.B. Kuppe Forest Range

Antharasanthe: Six camera traps, which were installed at various spots during tiger census, have been  stolen by miscreants. Four camera traps were already stolen recently and now six cameras are stolen.

Out of these six camera traps, two were installed near Kalpare Jeep Road in Masthigudi beat, two at Sunkanadakatte Kodu Jeep Road in Baraballe Beat and two at D. Line Kalpare Road in Karnataka-Kerala border. Also, the miscreants have stolen 48 batteries.

Miscreants entering the forest areas and stealing hi-tech camera traps has become a headache to the Forest Department. Based on the complaint from D.B. Kuppe Range Forest Officer (RFO) K.L. Madhu, Antharasanthe Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
