Mysuru: Just a day after 6 persons were killed in 3 road accidents that took place in Srirangapatna, Saragur and T. Narasipur Police Station limits on Friday, six more persons were killed in four separate accidents that occurred on Saturday at Bannur, Bellur (Nagamangala) T. Narasipur and K.R. Traffic Police Station limits in Mysuru.
In the first incident, a man and his son were killed when the motorcycle they were travelling, was knocked down by a goods auto on Bannur-Mandya Road in the early hours of Saturday.
The deceased are Siddashetty (60) and his son Mahendra (32), of Banugodi in T. Narasipura.
Siddashetty and Mahendra were returning from Kirugavalu after selling tomatoes at 5 am, when the Hero Honda motorcycle (KA55/S 5875) they were travelling was knocked down by a goods auto (KA55/7674) near Adichunchanagiri School.
While Mahendra was killed on the spot, Siddashetty was rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru where he breathed his last.
In the second accident, 2 persons were killed and eight sustained injuries when two cars collided near Bellur cross on Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway on Saturday. The deceased are Pradeep of Bengaluru and Divya of Belur in Hassan district.
Shivanandashetty of Bellur was travelling in his Maruti car (KA53/MC/2120) along with his family members and sister Divya, when the car went out of control and overshot the divider and rammed into a Honda car (KA02/MK/9071) coming in the opposite direction.
Due to impact, Pradeep, the driver of Honda car was killed on the spot, while Divya who was rushed to nearby Adichunchanagiri Hospital died later.
Also, eight other occupants of the two cars, who sustained injuries, are being treated.
Wipro salesman killed
In another accident, a 42-year-old man was killed on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was knocked down by a Bolero on T. Narasipur-Chamarajanagar road. The deceased is Guruprasad (42) of T. Narasipur.
Guruprasad who was said to be a Wipro salesman was returning to T. Narasipur after dropping his family members at a Chamarajanagar village, when the speeding Bolero (KA55/5462) fatally knocked him down near Alagudu Bore.
Sadvidya student killed
A Sadvidya PU College student was killed, while two other fellow students sustained injuries when the scooter they were travelling rammed into an electric pole on Ring road.
The deceased is Dhanush (18), a resident of Vidyaranyapuram while Srinivas and Darshan sustained grievous injuries. The students were travelling in a Honda Activa Scooter (KA09/HH9917) to a resort on H.D. Kote road, when the scooter rammed into a high mast electric pole near the silk farm on Ring Road.
