Six students in State commit suicide

Mysore/Mysuru: As many as six students in the State including from Srirangapatna and Kushalnagar, have committed suicide for failing and scoring less marks in the 2nd PU exams for which the results were announced yesterday.

Sandhya of Herur village in Kushalnagar taluk of Kodagu district, who had passed the exams but did not get the expected marks, has committed suicide while M.J. Spandana of Mahadevapura village in Srirangapatna taluk, Pavitra Lingadala of Hatri village in Gadag, Pranab Eshwar Naik of Kadle village in Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district, who failed in the exams, have                                                         committed suicide.

Sandhya (18), daughter of an ex-Serviceman, was a student of a First Grade College in Kushalnagar. A studious student, Sandhya had secured distinction in SSLC exams. She had expected 90 percent marks in 2nd PUC but secured 67 percent. Depressed over scoring less marks, she committed suicide by hanging self at her home. A case has been registered at Kushalnagar Rural Police Station.

M.J. Spandana of Mahadevapura in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district, who came to know that she had failed in three subjects, ended her life by hanging self at her house. A case has been registered at Arakere Police Station.

Pavitra Lingadala of Hatri village in Gadag, depressed over failing in the exams, committed suicide by hanging self while Pranab Eshwar Naik of Kadle villge in Kumata taluk of Dakshina Kannada, who had failed in four subjects, ended his life by hanging self.

Pooja Rachappa Chalageri Baligar of Yadahalli village in Bagalkot district, who failed in the exams, ended her life by jumping into a well while Suhasini Dileep, Malachapur of Chataguppa town in Humnabad taluk in Bidar district, depressed over failing in II PUC exams, has committed suicide by                                                hanging self.
