SJCE Alumni Scholarship Awarded

Mysuru: SJCE Alumni Association is conducting many activities at both, national and global level. Awarding scholarship for the needy and deserving students is one among the activities of the Association.

SJCE Alumni Association had organised scholarship award ceremony on Oct.12 at its campus in city. Alumni of 1976 batch graced the award ceremony.

The alumni batch of 1976 has initiated two scholarship awards exclusively for Mechanical Engineering students and along with that, the alumni who are residing at USA sponsored five scholarships and one scholarship from its SJCE faculty member. In total, SJCE Alumni Association awarded eight scholarships. The support will be rendered till they complete their graduation.

M.V. Roopa, Scientist, ISRO/ISTRAC, a proud alumnus of 1993 Electrical and Electronics batch, was  the chief guest. Roopa was involved in various ISRO mission activities like Chandrayaan II, Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), Oceansat 3  and many more. The interactive session among students was also held.

Later, Prof. M.H. Dhananjaya, Advisor, Technical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, shared his experience on how SJCE has evolved to JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU). Prof. L. Jawahar Nesan, Vice-Chancellor of JSS STU, expressed his views in involving Alumni for the University’s growth.

Prof. T.N. Nagabhushan, Principal and Dean (Engineering), presented various activities of SJCE Alumni Association. 

M.D. Harinath, Secretary, welcomed. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. B.S. Harish, Coordinator, SJCE Alumni Association.
