Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), Mysuru, had organised a Tech Fest and workshop “EQUIP-2023” at their campus in collaboration with Bengaluru Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC) recently.
Eighteen Eminent Tech leaders from Fortune 500 companies like Google, Telstra, TVS, Tata Elxis etc., educated more than 700 students across various engineering colleges in Mysuru on trending technologies.
This Tech Fest was organised to address rapid changes in technology and for students to choose various career opportunities in newer fields of Satellite technology, Intelligent automation, Decision intelligence, 5G, Robotics in Manufacturing, Digital transformation etc., along with hands-on workshops on solving social problems.
This was the first time tech leads and founders of companies were invited to address the students and faculties on a single platform as part of the 60th year Diamond Jubilee celebration of SJCE.
Manas Dasgupta, CEO – Teksands.ai and K.R. Anjana, Hon. Joint Secretary, NHRD, Bengaluru and BCIC, were the chief guests who inaugurated the event along with Prof. B. Suresh, Director, Technical, JSS Mahavidypeetha, Dr. A.N. Santosh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, JSS STU, Dr. B.S. Harish, Deputy Registrar, JSS STU, Dr. S.B. Kivade, Principal, SJCE, Dr. M. Pradeep, Training and Placement Officer, JSS STU.
In his inaugural address, Manas Dasgupta emphasised on the importance of industry collaborations to empower students on latest technologies and future proof their career by learning new skills.
Prof. B. Suresh advised students to be multiskilled and focus on multidisciplinary projects. He emphasised on starting newer courses and changing syllabus according to the industry need and educating students to be industry ready from day 1.
Dr. Santosh Kumar spoke about various programmes which will be offered as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of SJCE in the coming days.
Tech Fest “EQUIP” was the first event to bridge the gap between industry and institute and in coming days many such activities and workshops will be organised to help students to plan and choose the right career opportunities and emerge as a strong technical graduate.
