Slew of protests staged in city

Mysore/Mysuru:  Extending support to ongoing stir by ASHA workers, the All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), Karnataka Rajya Samyukta Kattada Karmikara Sangha and Karnataka Rajya Samyukta Vasathinilaya Karmikara Sangha held protests in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office in city yesterday. 

They shouted slogans against the State Government for not fulfilling ASHA workers’ demands and against dilution of labour laws. Association President N. Muddukrishna, Madanchandra and others were present.

Guest lecturers demand regularisation of services

Members of Government Degree College Guest Lecturers Coordination Committee also held protests yesterday. 

The protesters, wearing masks and maintaining social distance, demanded regularisation of services of Guest Lecturers serving in various Degree Colleges all across the State and urged the Government to take note of the hardship faced by the Guest Lecturers. 

Vice-President of Coordination Committee T. Balasubrahmanyam, Hanumantesh, Dr. Baburaj and others participated in the protest.

Declare ‘Rajgruha’ as National monument

Protesting against vandalism of the premises of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s residence ‘Rajgruha’ in Mumbai, members of Samatha Sainik Dal (SSD) and Republican Party of India (RPI) urged Maharashtra Government and the Centre to declare ‘Rajgruha’ as a National monument.

The protestors also appealed to the administration to investigate and punish the miscreants.  

Besides, they urged the Government to provide more protection to all Corona Warriors including doctors, nurses and other health care workers in the State. 

District President of SSD and RPI V. Ganesh, District Chief Secretary S. Sentilkumar, Members of Advisory Committee G.S. Praveenkumar and G. Bhumika, Raju, Eraiah, Jayamma and others took part.
