‘Smartphone technology leads to data leakage’

Mysuru: Vidyavardhaka Law College had organised a ‘Model United Nations (UN) Conference’ at its premises here on Saturday.

The focus was on ‘Disarmament and International Security’ with stress on responsibility regarding data security.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M.N. Bheemesh, Senior Advisor, ALMT Legal Advocates and Solicitor, Bengaluru, opined that smartphone technology was providing route for leakage of informations, referring to the recent serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka. He observed that everyone was aiming to have a smartphone and data was getting leaked to others inviting problems.

Addressing the gathering, Principal District and Sessions Judge S.K. Vontigodi said that the major problem plaguing many countries are terrorism and leakage of confidential  information. He sought the intervention of United Nations to address the problem. He opined that leaders of all nations should meet and discuss on international security.

On the lines of a regular UN Conference, the students represented various countries and discussed on steps to put down terrorism.

Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Secretary P. Vishwanath, Treasurer Srishaila Ramannavar, College Principal P. Deepu and others were present.
