Snehamayi Krishna sentenced in cheque bounce case

January 31, 2025

Mysuru:  A City Court has sentenced Mysuru RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna in a Cheque bounce case.

Snehamayi Krishna, who has been waging a legal battle against the mega MUDA scam, had borrowed money from one Kumar of Lalithadripura in 2015 and in-turn had given a cheque of The Mysore Merchants Co operative Bank Ltd. as guarantee. Later, Kumar presented the cheque to the Bank on the mentioned date, when it bounced for lack of money in Krishna’s account. Thereafter, Kumar filed a complaint in the Court. The city’s Third Additional Civil and JMFC Court, which heard the case, held Krishna guilty of the charges and sentenced him. However, the Court did not pronounce the quantum of the punishment.

Reacting to the Court sentencing him in the case, Krishna said he would file a review petition in the Court soon.
