Madikeri: ‘Sodaru,’ authored by B.G. Anantha Shayana, Consulting Editor of ‘Shakti’ Kannada daily, Kodagu, on his experience in the field of journalism, was released at a programme organised at G. Chidvilas Red Bricks auditorium in Madikeri on May 14.
Speaking after releasing the book, former Karnataka Media Academy Chairman M.A. Ponnappa said that Anantha Shayana’s book ‘Sodaru’ is a guide to those entering the field of media. He wished that the book becomes more valuable to budding journalists.
Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) President Shivananda Tagadur said that it is important for journalists to gain the confidence of the society through their work and activities. He felt that the media needed a more creative and logical narrative amidst the urgency and race for ‘breaking news.’
‘Gadinadu Sanchari’ newspaper Editor T.P. Ramesh also spoke.
Arameri Kalancheri Mutt Seer Sri Shantha Mallikarjuna Swamiji said that the media should educate people on facts at a time when lies are spreading thick and fast.
‘Shakti’ newspaper Editor G. Rajendra shared his experience on the challenges faced by those working in the media field.
Author Anantha Shayana, who also spoke, said he has written about his experiences while working for ‘Shakti’ newspaper.
Senior Journalist H.T. Anil spoke about the book and wished Anantha Shayana for bringing out more such books in future.
