Solution to alleviate traffic snarls at Sub-Urban Bus Stand

Sir,

I am writing to propose a solution to the persistent traffic congestion around our city’s Sub-Urban Bus Stand, particularly during peak hours.

The limited space at the existing Bus Stand, which serves as a hub for buses bound for many districts across Karnataka, is a primary issue. Overcrowding of buses and passengers has made it difficult to manage and navigate the area efficiently.

Additionally, the Bengaluru-bound buses are parked at the exit point of the Bus Stand, hindering the movement of all other buses and causing significant delays.

I suggest diverting the Bengaluru-bound buses to the vacant park opposite the existing Bus Stand. This underutilised area offers ample space for buses and passengers. The benefits of this suggestion include:

Reduction in traffic congestion: Relocating Bengaluru-bound buses will reduce  vehicle congestion around the Bus Stand, enabling smoother traffic flow.

Better utilisation of space: Converting the vacant park into a bus terminal will make productive use of the land and contribute to the city’s infrastructure development.

Environmental benefits: Reducing traffic congestion will lower emissions from idling vehicles, improving air quality.

Alleviating overcrowding: Diverting some traffic will make the current Bus Stand more manageable for buses serving other districts.

Unobstructed bus movement: Moving the Bengaluru-bound buses will free up the exit point, allowing for smoother and more efficient movement of all other buses.

With proper planning and execution, this proposal can bring substantial improvements to our city’s traffic management. I urge the authorities concerned to consider and implement these suggestions.
