Solve traffic chaos at Dattagalli KEB Junction

I would like to draw the attention of the Mysuru City Traffic Police and the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to several issues concerning the recently installed traffic signal at the KEB Junction in Dattagalli.

To begin with, multiple roads converge at this junction, including traffic from arterial roads, making the area highly congested during peak hours.

Traffic movement from Shani Temple Road and the left turn from Bogadi Ring Road is particularly chaotic. Vehicles from these roads merge directly into the main traffic flow without adequate regulation, creating confusion and leaving very little time for motorists already on the road to manoeuvre safely.

The dedicated cycle lane created at the junction also appears to be underutilised. Instead of serving cyclists, it is often occupied by stray dogs or used by vendors to display their wares. So far, I have not seen any cyclists using this lane. Another concern is the presence of vegetable vendors and small eateries on both sides of the road. In addition, cars and two-wheelers are frequently parked haphazardly along the stretch. This significantly reduces the available road space and combined with the cycle lane, leaves hardly enough room for two cars to pass each other comfortably.

There is also a bus stop located right at the point where vehicles merge, which further aggravates congestion and creates a potential safety hazard.

Vehicles heading towards the Dattagalli side often face another problem. Many two-wheelers and cars continue to move even when their signal is red, showing little regard for traffic rules. Such violations should be strictly enforced and offenders penalised.
