Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt Seer abdicates Peetha

July 1, 2017

Mysuru: Sosale Vyasaraja Mutt Seer Vidhyamanohar Teertha Swamiji has abducted his Peetha and has filed an affidavit before a local Court in this connection yesterday.

The Seer, who was in the centre of controversy, had found himself on the wrong-side of the law, facing charges of embezzlement of Mutt property and misuse of valuables donated by devotees over the years.

He was also arrested twice after a devotee filed a complaint that the silver chariot as also other valuable articles was misused by the Seer.

In view of the Mutt’s troubled past in the recent years, the State Government had intervened and appointed a retired senior IAS officer as its Administrator to manage the Mutt activities.

Meanwhile, sources said that it was likely that Prahalladachar would ascend the Peetha.

Sosale Mutt is about 3 kms from T. Narasipur and is close to the confluence of Cauvery and Kapila rivers.
