‘Sought guidance on development of Mysuru’

Says Dr. Yathindra after calling on disgruntled senior party leaders at Government House

Mysuru: Clarifying on his entry to the closed door meeting between disgruntled senior Congress MLAs Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, K. Venkatesh and Tanveer Sait at Government Guest House at Nazarbad on Tuesday, District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah said that he had entered the meeting to seek the guidance of the senior party leaders.

Speaking to press persons after the meeting, Dr. Yathindra said, he attended the meeting as a courtesy after becoming the Mysuru District in-Charge Minister a few days ago. “I attended the meeting to seek guidance from senior party Legislators Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, K. Venkatesh & Tanveer Sait, who are all former Ministers from the district.

Pointing out that he had intended to visit the homes of these senior party leaders, the Minister said that he too took part in the meeting after the leaders extended an invitation to him.

“I did not knew of the meeting and the purpose of the meeting. But I attended the meeting after I was invited to join the talks,” he said adding that the Congress party’s internal matters cannot be discussed in public while also clarifying that he attended for seeking their guidance on development of the city and district.

Noting that all these three MLAs were senior party leaders, Dr. Yathindra said, he would have been happy if all the three were part of the Cabinet. The Congress High Command had taken a decision, which is the party’s internal matter that cannot be disclosed, he maintained.
