Match ends in a draw, India ‘A’ claims the series 1-0
Opener Priyank Panchal (109, 192b, 9×4, 4×6) scored an well compiled century and hogged the limelight on the final day of the second and final un-official Test match between India ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’ at the SDNR Wadiyar Stadium, here yesterday.
India ‘A’ resuming at their overnight score of 14 for no loss, scored 202 for three in 70 overs before declaring their innings at the stroke of tea. With no result possible and the match towards a draw, both Captains decided to shakes hands and walk off the field.
Priyank Panchal impressed with his cover drives and batted negotiated the South African spinners with ease. Abhimanyu Easwaran (37, 93b, 3×4) fell to Piedt, attempting to cut a ball close to his body. The openers added 94-runs for the first wicket. Shubman Gill (0) departed early clipping one from Piedt straight to short mid-on.
Karun Nair continued his good form and batted well to score an unbeaten 51 (99b) and added 92-runs for the third-wicket with Priyank Panchal. Skipper Wriddhiman Saha remained not out on 1. Aiden Markram was adjudged as the Man of the Match.
