South India Wheelchair Cricket Tournament: Mysuru, Bengaluru teams in final clash

Mysuru: District Minister G.T. Devegowda inaugurated the final match of the three-Day South India Wheelchair Cricket Tournament between Mysuru and Bengaluru at MUDA Sports Ground, Vijayanagar first stage here this morning, by hitting a ball.

Four teams — Bengaluru, Mysuru, Bagalkot and Kerala had taken part in this three-day cricket tournament organised by Bengaluru-based Divyanga Maitri Sports Academy in association with Vikalachetanara Abhyudaya Seva Samithi, Mysuru, which began on Nov.16.

Mysuru and Bengaluru are playing the final match today, which is 12-over a side. The match is scheduled to end at about 3 pm and the winner and the runner up will be presented trophies.

MLA L. Nagendra, former Commissioner of Angavikalara Adhiniyama, Bengaluru K.V. Rajanna, Corporator K.V. Sridhar, Darwin Moses of CBM, KPSC Member Mangala Sridhar, Arjuna awardee Mahadevu, Indian Wheelchair Cricket team Vice-Captain Shivaprasad, Divyanga Maitri Sports Academy Trustee Dilip Kumar, Vikalachetana Abhyudaya Seva Samithi President Prabhuswamy, Secretary M. Mahalakshmi and others were present.

Bengaluru’s Divyanga Maitri Sports Academy has donated two-wheelchairs and sports kits to the members of the teams which took part in the tournament.
