South Zone Natl. Athletics Championship: Mysuru athletes bag medals with a NMR

The athletes of Mysuru district, who represented Mysore District Athletics Association (MDAA), Mysuru, at the 32nd South Zone National Junior Athletics Championship 2021 held at C.H. Muhammed Koya Stadium, University of Calicut, Kerala, from Feb. 26 to 28, have bagged medals in various categories.

While three players won gold medals that included a New Meet Record [NMR] in the 800 mts Run category, two won silver and two bagged bronze medals.

GOLD WINNERS

• T.K. Bopanna – 800 mts Run (U-16 Boys) – Timing: 1:56.21 sec [New Meet Record]; • Mohit N. Raj – Discus Throw (U-20 Boys) – Distance: 49.96 mts; • Maurya Ganapathy – Shot-Put (U-18 Boys) – Distance: 17.16 mts.

SILVER WINNERS

• Likitha Yogesh – Discus Throw (U-18 Girls) – Distance: 36.15 mts; • Aryan Prajwal Kashiappa – 400 mts Hurdles (U-18 Boys) – Timing: 45.70 sec.

BRONZE WINNERS

• Sughosh – Discus Throw (U-18 Boys) – Distance: 42.93 m; • Priyanka – 3000 mts Run (U-18 Girls) – Timing: 11.3 sec.
