Mysuru: Mysuru Superintendent of Police (SP) Ravi D. Channannavar has warned people who have created his fake profiles on social media sites. The SP has said that there were many profiles having his name, photographs in various social media platforms and all of them were fake and have not been authorised by him.
He said that his profiles were used in several discussion forums where opinions were expressed on his behalf. In his Facebook post, Ravi Channannavar has said that this was not a healthy development where profiles are faked and legal action will be taken against them.
“It has come to my notice that many fake Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp profiles have been made by some people by using my name and photographs. It is not correct, in fact it is a criminal offence and legal action can be initiated against all those who do it. So don’t do it. I am a simple man doing my best for the people as expected by my service. I don’t want hype and exaggeration. Your suggestions and support are always required to do my best,” the SP has written in his Facebook account on Sept. 3.
