Mysuru: Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), in association with various organisations conducted a special cleanliness drive atop Chamundi Hill on Thursday.
Officials and staff of the Pollution Control Board Regional Office’s city and rural divisions, Madilu Educational and Rural Development Society, Sri Chamundeshwari Development Authority, Chamundi Hill Gram Panchayat, students of SJCE, MIT and other schools and colleges, factory employees and others joined hands in the cleanliness drive.
During the drive, Hill Temple surroundings, steps leading to the hill top, parking lot area and the Hill road were cleaned and garbage collected.
Also, devotees were sensitised on the importance of maintaining cleanliness as Chamundi Hill is a pilgrimage place besides urging the devotees to dump wastes in the dust bins and not litter them.
Over 100 persons including Pollution Control Board senior Environmental Officers V.S. Kumar and V. Sunil, Sadashivamurthy of SJCE, Madilu Society Executive Director K. Srinivas, factory employees and others took part in the special cleanliness drive.
