Special Handloom and Handicrafts Exhibition at JSS Mysore Urban Haat from March 26

Mysore/Mysuru: A 17-day Special Handloom and Handicrafts Exhibition has been organised at JSS Mysore Urban Haat, Hebbal Ring Road, from March 26 to April 11.

The expo will be held under the sponsorship of Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India,   Cauvery Handlooms, Bengaluru and Department of Handloom and Textile and Commerce, Government of Karnataka.

All COVID-19 precautionary measures will be taken during the exhibition as per the guidelines of State and Central Governments. 

More than 50 Weavers, Weavers Societies from all over India including National and State awardees will be exhibiting and selling their attractive traditional and heritage handloom products. The exhibition will be open to visitors from 10 am to 9 pm on all days. There is no entry or parking fee for the public. 

Silk and Cotton Sarees from Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Jarkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Kutch, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, and Karnataka like Kanchipuram Silk, Maheshwari Silk, Tussar Silk, Dharmavaram, Kutch Shawls, Kuthampalli Handloom Sarees, Kani Shawls and Ilakal Silk, Molakalmoor Silk, Pujabi Phulkari-Patiyala Suits, Bhagalpur Tussar Silk and duppatta will be available. 

Handloom products like  Grass Mats-Curtains, Jaipur Kurthas  and Raprons, Kanjivaram Silk, Ilakal Kasuthi and Molakalmur sarees of Karnataka, Jute bags,   Dress Materials, Boutique sarees and Dress, Bengali Cotton sarees, Kashmir Handlooms, Chicken Embroidery, Rajasthan Embroidery, Gujarat Dress, Vegetable print Dress Materials from various States will also be available.

The creative artisans will exhibit, demonstrate and sell their rich art and crafts like Bandhani (Tie & Dye), Kutchhi Embroidery, Handloom Products, Bamboo crafts, Jute items, Coir Products, Agate Items, Navarathri special Chania Choli, Clay articles, Patchwork, Beadwork, Terracotta, Warli painting, Eco-friendly Jewellery items and many more.

The event will be inaugurated on Mar. 26 at 4 pm.  People in and around Mysuru can utilise this opportunity by visiting the Haat and support the weavers  and artisans community.
