Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Mysore Urban Haat has organised a Special Handloom Expo SAMSKRUTHI-2021 under the sponsorship of Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, Cauvery Handlooms, Bengaluru and the Department of Handloom & Textile & Commerce, Government of Karnataka, at its premises in Hebbal Ring Road from Dec. 18 to Jan.2, 2022.
More than 60 weavers and Weaver Societies from all over India including National and State awardees will be exhibiting and selling their attractive traditional and heritage handloom products in the expo.
The expo will be open from 10.30 am to 9 pm on all the days.
The expo-cum-sale includes Punjabi Phulkari, Patiala Suits, Bhagalpur Tussar Silk sarees & duppattas, Handlooms from Madhya Pradesh, Grass Mats & Curtains, Jaipur Kurthas & Raparons, Kanjivaram Silk Sarees, Ilakal Kasuthi and Molakalmur sarees of Karnataka, Jute bags, Tussur silk sarees, Kantha stitch sarees, Banaras sarees and Dress Materials, Boutique sarees and Dress, Bengali Cotton sarees, Kashmir Handlooms, Chicken Embroidery, Rajasthan
Embroidery, Gujarat Dress, Vegetable print Dress Materials and other attractive Handlooms items.
The expo will be inaugurated on Dec.18 at 4 pm. Visitors can avail 20 percent discount on all handloom products.
There is no entry and parking fee for those visiting expo.
All Covid-19 precautionary measures will be taken during the expo as per the guidelines of State and Central Governments.
City bus facility has been arranged from KSRTC bus stand (Bus No. 117), according to a press release from M. Shivananjaswamy, Project Officer, JSS Mysore Urban Haat.
