Conferring of ‘Yuva Pratibha Puraskar’ on Panchami Bidanur
Mysuru: Continuing its milestone 30th anniversary commemorative programmes, Nrityagiri Performing Arts & Research Centre, Mysuru, in association with Pratibha Vedike, Mysuru, will host a cultural and scholastic evening on Oct. 1 at 6 pm at Nrityagiri Auditorium, Preethi Layout, Srirampura.
The evening features a special thematic lecture titled ‘Dance sequences in Valmiki Ramayana’ delivered by distinguished scholar Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hebri.
On the occasion, Nrityagiri will confer the prestigious ‘Yuva Pratibha Puraskar’ upon promising young tabla prodigy Panchami Bidanur, recognising her exceptional proficiency in classical percussion. Panchami is the daughter and disciple of renowned tabla maestro Bhimashankar Bidanur.
The event is open to all.
Profile: Panchami Bidanur is a gifted young classical tabla artiste and vocalist hailing from Karnataka, currently residing in Mysuru. Born to Pt. Bhimashankar Bidanur and Sangeeta, she has emerged as one of the State’s most promising young percussionists.
She receives rigorous, traditional training under her father and guru, Pt. Bhimashankar Bidanur. Began her initial vocal training under Vidu. Veena Pandit and Mrutyunjaya Hiremath and is currently undergoing advanced vocal tutelage under Sharada Bhat Kattige. She has also pursued foundational training in Bharatanatyam, completing the Prarambhik examination from the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.
She has won may awards & recognitions including Bala Gourava Prashasti & Yuva Pratibha Puraskar and has won State-level Tabla Competition (Bala Pratibha) conducted by Kalasamhitha Cultural Club at NIE, Mysuru.
