Sir,
As a frequent traveller on the Ring Road, I noted a couple of months ago that the authorities have installed signboards that say that the speed limit is restricted to 40 kmph on all the stretches.
However, since they are still up even after a couple of months, I thought I must bring to the notice of the concerned authorities that there seems to be a printing error on all the boards.
Surely, on a SIX-LANE road with additional service roads, on a Ring Road that is DESIGNED to divert highway traffic away from the city centre and to provide a quicker alternate route to get around, wouldn’t a 40kmph limit defeat the purpose entirely?
Surely the authorities know that it is 2017 and the vehicles of today are far more advanced, quicker and easier to control than earlier vehicles?
I understand the need for safety and driver education and I’m indeed saddened by the reports of accidents on the Ring Road due to over-speeding, but imposing a ridiculously low speed limit is overkill, in my humble opinion.
Will the authorities clarify?
