Spiritual discourses at Suttur Mutts

Mysore/Mysuru: Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Mutt, Suttur Srikshetra in Nanjangud taluk will be organising spiritual discourse series from July 28 to Aug. 27 every day during the Hindu month of Shravana.

There will be mass prayers between 6.30 pm and 7 pm; Kavya Vachana of Suranga Kavi’s ‘Trishashti Puratana Charitram’ and Pravachana will be held between 7 pm and 8 pm on all days. Prof. H.B. Devanna will give vyakhyana while D.M.  Siddalinga Swamy will render Kavya Vachana.

Various pujas, rudrabhisheka, shivasahasranamavali, shivashtottara, mahamangalarathi and others rituals will performed under the gracious presence of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

The discourse series will be inaugurated by ZP CEO B.R. Poornima on July 28 at 6.30 pm.  Sri Ukkinakante Mutt Seer Sri Sambasadashiva Swamiji will preside. Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. B.S. Manjunathaswamy will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Similarly, the Suttur Mutt, located on the foot of Chamundi Hill, Mysuru city, will also organise spiritual discourse series from July 29 to Aug. 28.

There will be mass prayers between 6 pm and 6.30 pm while from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm  there will be ‘Samskrithi Darshana’ pravachana where Dr. K. Anantha Ramu will speak on Indian Culture, Dr. B.V. Vasantha Kumar on Karnataka Culture and Prof. Morabada Mallikarjunaswamy on Sharana Culture.

The inaugural function of the discourse series will be held on July 29 at 6 pm. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bagadi Gautham will inaugurate. M.M. Hills Salur Mutt junior pontiff Sri Shantamallikarjuna Swamiji will preside.  City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Transport facility

Devotees who wish to witness the various rituals at the Suttur Mutt may make use of vehicle facilities arranged to the Mutt on all the days from J.P. Nagar, JSS Layout and JSS Mahavidyapeetha, according to a press release.
