Spot drawing contest marks Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Swami Vivekananda‘s 160th Jayanthi (National Youth Day) celebrations, Team Mysuru Prathistana, in association with Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA), had organised a Spot Drawing Competition at Kalinga Rao Ganmantapa in Dasara Exhibition Grounds here  on Sunday.

As many as 131 students took part in the contest where a pencil led sketch of God, drawn by artist Nanjundaswamy, received huge appreciation.

Inaugurating the event, Mayor Shivakumar observed that children must enthusiastically take part in various such competitions. “Vivekananda is the one who introduced Indianness (Bharatiyate) to the whole world.  Organising spot drawing contest with the theme ‘Swami Vivekananda and incidents related to his life’ is a special and unique way of commemorating the great personality,” he said.

Cauvery Hospital Head Dr. Chandrashekar, Pai Vista Hotel Founder Mahesh Kamath, Corporator Chayadevi, Team Mysuru Prathistana Members Kiran Jairam Gowda, Yashwanth, Lingaraju Hiriyanna, Anil Jain, Murali, Anand, Prasanna Raj Guru, Yatish, Amar, Manjunath, Harish Shetty, Abhishek, Ganesh, Harish, Sahana, Kaveri and others were present during  the occasion.
