Spot me if you can…

The pleasures of watching birds come to light during change of seasons and more so during spring when the trees shed their leaves. Here is an image of not 1 but 2 Spotted Owlets camouflaged perfectly in the colours of spring. Owls have always been considered as bad omen but this particular species of Owl (Athene brama) has been named after a Hindu God and Greek Goddess. They are difficult to spot due to their small size (19-21 cm) but have a loud and harsh call mainly during early dawn or after sunset. They prey on small insects, lizards and mice.
