Mysore/Mysuru: “Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, after becoming a sanyasi, has travelled across the country including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and has spread the light of knowledge,” opined Vishakapattanam’s Vishaka Sri Sharada Peeta Seer Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati.
The Seer was speaking at a function organised to mark the 80th birthday celebrations of Sri Ganapathy Swamiji organised at Nada Mantapa in Sri Ganapathy Ashram premises on Nanjangud Road here on Monday.
“Sri Ganapathy Swamiji has spread the light of knowledge across the world and is the only saint who propagated the parayana of Gurucharitre. Our country has a tradition of Swamijis and the Sanatana Dharma has spread its roots here. Spread of knowledge and Upasana methods are being taught here through Datta Parayana at Sri Datta Peeta. Junior Pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji also has a similar vision to that of Sri Ganapathy Swamiji and is following the footsteps of his Guru (Mentor),” added Vishaka Sri Sharada Peeta Pontiff.
Pune’s Maharshi Vedavyasa Pratishtana Pontiff Sri Govindagiri greeted Sri Ganapathy Swamiji on his birthday said that Datta Peeta is illuminating the world with Yoga, Sacrifice and Sainthood. “I have come here for the first time and feel that the God has sent Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji to ensure welfare of the world,” added Sri Govindagiri Swamiji.
Asserting that ours is a Vedic culture, Maharshi Vedavyasa Pratishtana Pontiff said that without Veda, Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata India would not have remained as India and it is our duty to practise and develop our culture.
“In many countries of the world, their ancient culture is destroyed but we have retained our ancient culture and many Yogis, Saints and Seers like Sri Ganapathy Swamiji are responsible for this,” concluded Sri Govindagiri Swamiji.
Sri Subudendra Theertha Swamiji of Mantralya Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, who also greeted Sri Ganapathy Swamiji on his 80th birthday felt that the Pontiff has built this Ashram for the protection of Sanatana Dharma. “Sri Datta Peeta is a temple of Knowledge,” he praised.
