Mysuru: Sri Krishna Gana Sabha has organised a music competition on Dec. 8 from 10 am onwards at Sri Krishna Temple, Alwar Kala Bhavan in Gokulam 3rd Stage.
Competitions will be held in the following categories: Classical Music (vocal and mridanga), Bhavageethe or Bhaktigeethe and Janpadageethe for the age group 6-15 years (junior) and 16-25 years (senior).
Classical Music: For juniors, keerthane composed by one of the Trinity of Karnatak music – Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Shyama Sastri.
For seniors, composition by any one of the Trinity with Raaga and Swara Prastana.
First prize of Rs.500, 2nd prize of Rs.400 and 3rd prize of Rs.300 with a memento and certificate will be given to the winners. All the participants will be given participatory certificates with a memento.
Special cash prize of Rs.3,000 for the winner and cash prize of Rs.2,000 for the runner-up will be given in the Senior Classical Music (vocal) category.
Entries are to be registered in the temple office from 9 am to 11 am and from 6 pm to 8 pm before Dec. 6 with registration fee of Rs. 50 for each event.
