Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev, representing India in the Sri Lanka F2 Futures Men’s Tennis Tournament in Colombo won his first round singles match in the qualifying round yesterday.
Prajwal Dev beat Vibuda Wijebandara (SL) 6-1, 6-2. He will meet Pakistan’s Heera Ashiq in the next round. In another first round match, Suraj R. Prabodh, also of Mysuru, beat Georgiy Pachay (TKM) 6-3, 6-1. However in the second round, Abhinav Sanjeev Shanmugam of India beat Suraj R. Prabodh 6-3, 6-2 to enter the main draw.
