Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev taking part in the ITF Men’s Sri Lanka Futures $15,000 Tennis Tournament 2017 at Colombo on Tuesday won his first round tie in the men’s singles event.

Prajwal Dev playing some consistent tennis beat Nishangan Nadaraja (Sri Lanka) 6-2, 6-2 to enter the pre-quarterfinals in the men’s singles event. Prajwal Dev earlier qualifying for the main draw of the tournament, had wins over Alex Fairbanks (SL) 6-2, 6-2 in the final qualifying round and had beat Heera Ashiq (PAK) 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 in the first round.

Mysuru lad Suraj R. Prabodh went down to Peter Goldsteiner (AUT) 1-6, 3-6 in the first round of the men’s singles event. In the men’s doubles event, Nicholas B (USA) & Giovani Sameha (LIB) beat S.D.Prajwal Dev & Manish Sureshkumar 6-4, 7-6 (4) to enter the quarter-finals.
