Sri Neelakantaswamy Temple entrance arch inaugurated

Mysore/Mysuru: Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa inaugurated the new entrance arch of Sri Neelakantaswamy Temple at Agrahara in Khille Mohalla here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Srivatsa said that the blessings of Sri Neelakantaswamy is memorable. Pointing out that Sri Neelakanta Shivayogi was an abode of sacrifice, the MLA said that this sacrifice saved Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar from an ailment which bothered the erstwhile Mysore ruler for long.

Stating that he discovered many interesting things when he went through the autobiography of the Swamiji, he said that the Swamiji has contributed a lot for Mysuru. The Mutt has done  yeoman service for the welfare of the people and the growth of the State, he said adding it is virtuous that we all are living in Mysuru.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, who graced the occasion, highlighted the services rendered by the Mutt for Mysuru.

The Seer also recalled the bond that the Mutt had with the Mysore Maharajas.

Mayor Shivakumar unveiled the name board ‘Sri Neelakantaswamy Mutt Road’ installed in front of the Mutt on the occasion.

Corporator B.V. Manjunath  released the book  ‘Aithihasika Isiri Sri Neelakantaswamy Mutt’ authored by M.V. Parashivamurthy and shared information on why the road had been named after Sri Neelakantaswamy Mutt and about the development works he had undertaken in the locality.

Mutt associates Somashekar, Nagarathna, Mallikarjuna, author M.V. Parashivamurthy and others were felicitated on the occasion.

Mutt Seer Vidwan Sri Siddamalla Swamiji, Hosamutt Seer Sri Chidananda Swamiji, Mudugunda Mutt Seer Sri Srikanta Swamiji, Kundur Mutt Seer Dr. Sharathchandra Swamiji, Kharapura Mutt Seer Sri Basavaraja Swamiji, Harave Mutt Seer Sri Sarpabhushana Swamiji, Hangala Mutt Seer Sri Jade Swamiji, Baradanapura Mutt Seer Sri Parashivamurthy Swamiji and a host of other Seers were present.
