Sri Nimishambha Temple records Rs. 42.11 lakh hundi collection

Srirangapatna: Sri Nimishambha Temple at Ganjam near here has recorded hundi collection of Rs. 42.11 lakh.

Out of the 18 hundis of the temple, only 12 were taken up for the counting that took place on Wednesday in the presence of Mandya Muzarai Tahsildar Dinesh, Temple Executive Officer Nanjegowda, SBI Bank staff and Women Self Help Groups.

Apart from Rs. 42.11 lakh collection of cash, the 12 hundis saw a collection of 70gm gold jewellery, 268 gm of silver jewellery, 61 American dollars and 10 dinars. Also, banned currency notes of Rs. 1,000 (one note) and Rs. 500 (eight) were found in the hundis.

The counting was taken up three months late on account of Cauvery crisis and Dasara festivities.

Temple Management Board President E. Prakash, Members B. Shankar, Ganjam Manju, G.S. Shivu & Puttaswamy, Revenue Inspector Doddaiah and others were present.
