Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama’s ‘Swachha Mysuru – Swastha Jeevana’ campaign

Mysuru: The 14th week of ‘Swachha Mysuru – Swastha Jeevana’ campaign, which was launched by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama for 40 weeks to bring public awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection, was held on Sunday in seven different areas of Nazarbad — behind Police Commissioner’s office, Hyder Gunta, Jatti Beedi, Kamatageri, Masjid Road, Lingaiah Colony.

Swami Atmajnanandaji Maharaj, President, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, D. Madegowda, ex-MLC, Kushal Kumar, area Corporator and Rekha Vishnumurthy, Chief of Shanthaveri Gopalagowda Memorial Hospital inaugurated the campaign.

Volunteers visited houses and requested the inmates to maintain cleanliness in the surroundings.   

About 120 students of Gopalagowda Nursing College, 220 volunteers, 30 MCC cleaning staff and overall 370 people participated in the cleaning and awareness campaign. Brochures on ‘Swachha Mysuru – Swastha Jeevana’ was distributed to houses in the locality.
