Mysore/Mysuru: The 1,064th Jayanti of Suttur Mutt Founder Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi will be held on Jan. 10 at Suttur Srikshetra in Nanjangud taluk.

The Jayanti celebration will be marked by various rituals such as Rudrabhisheka, chanting of Sahasranamavali, Shivashtothara, Shivarathree-swara Ashtothara and special pujas commencing from 3 am.

At 9 am, the idol of the Utsava Murti will be taken from the gadduge to Srimutt. At 9.30 am, a decorated chariot (ratha) procession will be taken out from the gadduge, which will pass through prominent roads of the village to reach Srimutt. Students of JSS free school will render songs at 9 am followed by distribution of prizes at 10.30 am.

Suttur Sri Shivarathreeshwara Panchanga, Kannada and English table calendars brought out by JSS Mahavidyapeetha and the book titled ‘One Mind Game’ authored by Bengaluru’s Sri Chaitanya School student K. Nethra Pearlson will be released on the occasion.
